About PageDNA
What is PageDNA?
PageDNA is web-to-print software and print order management for commercial printers and in-plant print shops, serving print since 1997. PageDNA gives your customers or departments branded online storefronts with approvals, quotes, billing, proofing and production handoff built in. PageDNA’s US-based team does about 95% of the build, and storefronts launch in an average of 7 weeks. Launch. Automate. Succeed.

Is PageDNA for commercial printers or in-plant print shops?
PageDNA is built for both commercial printers and in-plant print shops. Commercial printers, sign shops and fulfillment providers use PageDNA to move B2B customers from email and PDF orders to branded online ordering, including cXML punch-out from systems like SAP Ariba. In-plants at universities, K-12 districts, healthcare systems, government agencies and corporate print centers use PageDNA for approvals, cost centers, single sign-on and reporting.

Who is PageDNA not a good fit for?
PageDNA is not a good fit if you want a generic Shopify-style store, a WordPress print plugin, or a do-it-yourself design tool for one-off consumer photo products. PageDNA is built for B2B print operations that need online ordering tied to approvals, billing, production and integrations. If most of your business is single, price-shopped consumer orders, a public retail storefront tool may suit you better.

How does PageDNA compare to other web-to-print software?
PageDNA differs from many web-to-print vendors by building and launching your storefront with you, rather than handing over a login and a knowledge base. PageDNA does about 95% of the build, averages 7 weeks to launch, and treats customer adoption as part of implementation. When you compare vendors, ask each one who builds the catalog, how long launch takes, and who answers the phone after go-live.
Implementation and Adoption
How long does it take to implement PageDNA?
PageDNA storefronts launch in an average of 7 weeks from kickoff. PageDNA follows five steps… Discover, Build, Connect, Test, then Launch and Drive Adoption… refined over hundreds of implementations. A dedicated project manager with 10+ years of PageDNA experience runs short weekly check-ins and an online project management tool, so everyone knows what is done, what is next and who owns it.

How much of our team’s time does a PageDNA implementation take?
A PageDNA implementation typically takes about 1 hour per week of your team’s time, plus review and testing. PageDNA does about 95% of the build, including branding, products, workflows and permissions. Your team provides information, reviews progress and tests the storefront before launch. If you want to move faster, PageDNA can speed up the schedule with you.

We already have a storefront nobody uses. Can PageDNA help?
PageDNA can replace an unused storefront and help get your customers or departments ordering online. PageDNA customers have moved from failed storefronts, homegrown systems and email ordering. PageDNA rebuilds your catalog and plans data migration as part of implementation, sets quantified adoption goals at kickoff, and has its Customer Success team monitor your order volume after launch, so the new storefront does not become shelfware.

Integrations and Your MIS
Will PageDNA replace our print MIS?
PageDNA does not replace your print MIS. PageDNA is web-to-print and order management that works alongside your MIS. PageDNA handles online ordering, approvals, proofing, payment and production handoff, then sends jobs to your MIS so no one re-keys them. Inside PageDNA, customers see three order statuses: awaiting approval, canceled and completed. Detailed production phases stay in your MIS.

Which print MIS systems does PageDNA integrate with?
PageDNA integrates with print MIS platforms including EPMS, printIQ, Avanti Slingshot, Avanti Classic, Print Reach Midnight, DocketManager, Presswise, Printer’s Plan, e-Quantum and Kramer-Smilko. The Print Reach Midnight integration is round-trip: PageDNA sends orders as XML over SFTP, and job completion comes back automatically. If your MIS is not listed, ask PageDNA to review the integration options for your shop.

Does PageDNA integrate with Konica Minolta AccurioPro Flux, EFI Fiery and HP PrintOS?
PageDNA integrates with Konica Minolta AccurioPro Flux, EFI Fiery and HP PrintOS. The AccurioPro Flux integration is round-trip: orders and files go in, and job completion relays back to PageDNA. The Fiery integration sends approved files to Fiery Command WorkStation with the print preset, queue and copy count already set, but Fiery does not return job status to PageDNA.

Storefronts, Products and Billing
Can we run many branded storefronts on PageDNA?
PageDNA runs many branded storefronts from one platform, and adding one is a configuration task rather than a new project. Each storefront can have its own domain, logo, catalog, pricing, access rules and billing. PageDNA powers 2,000+ live storefronts for about 350 print operations, so commercial printers can add B2B accounts and in-plants can add departments as they grow.

Does PageDNA support signs, promotional products and apparel?
PageDNA supports signs and large format, promotional products, apparel, inventory and fulfillment alongside traditional print on one platform. PageDNA also handles bundled and kitted items, so you can offer several products as a single item, mixing static and variable pieces. Inventoried and print-on-demand items can sit in the same storefront, and shipment tracking can be added to orders.

How does PageDNA handle approvals, billing and payments?
PageDNA handles approvals with rules by department, by dollar amount or by specific content such as a business card title, plus forwarding and automatic reminders. At checkout, PageDNA supports purchase orders, cost centers, bill codes, budgets and discounts. For card payments, PageDNA offers real-time authorization through Authorize.net, PayPal Payflow Pro, CyberSource, Braintree and Moneris.

Support and Hosting
Where is PageDNA support based, and how fast does it respond?
PageDNA support comes from a US-based team of print experts, with an average response time of 1.2 hours. PageDNA support staff know print workflows, so you are not routed through a generic ticket queue. After launch, PageDNA’s Customer Success team monitors your order volume and helps with user guides, training webinars and videos. One customer review says the team “understands the print industry, responds quickly, and works as true partners.”

How is PageDNA hosted, and how is storefront access controlled?
PageDNA is cloud-based software hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), so you do not run servers, patches or upgrades yourself. PageDNA controls access with single sign-on using SAML2, including Azure, ADFS, Okta and Shibboleth, plus user profiles and storefront access rules, so each customer or department sees only its own products and pricing. Ask PageDNA for current security documentation during your evaluation.
