Shipping Tracking

Automate routine customer service inquiries.

The PageDNA Shipping system provides your end user customers with the ability to track their order status via the web and email notifications. Our system is integrated into the FedEx, UPS and DHL tracking systems, and includes the option to send notification emails to customers letting them know their packages have shipped. A variety of tools are available to streamline the process of keeping shipment data synchronized between internal vendor systems and the PageDNA online order status database.

Shipping System Benefits:

End-To-End Order Tracking

Both end-users at a customer and internal administrators can view where each order is within the production workflow.

Automated Customer Service

Customers can track their orders from the ordering site by merely entering a Last Name, Email Address or Tracking number to retrieve and view status on specific orders. Alternatively, end users can simply click a link within their Confirmation Email to check on the status of an order. On Profile-enabled sites, a single "Track Orders" button provides a compact list view showing all orders for a given user, sorted by date with the most recent order shown first. All of these tools help decrease the number of calls to customer service inquiring on order status.

FedEx/UPS/DHL Tracking Integration

PageDNA's integration with FedEx, UPS, DHL/Airborne and other tracking websites allows your users to track their packages all the way to their doorstep. PageDNA supports numerous shipment tracking systems and can easily integrate with other platforms where a known shipment tracking URL format is available.

Intelligent Email Notification

The Shipping System can send email notification to requesters upon shipment of their items. Users who have placed multiple orders will only receive a single Shipment Notification email with information for all items shipped for them on that day. Users can be removed from notification on a per-shipment basis if desired (e.g., customer does not want notifications).

End-User Experience

Upon placing an order, users receive a confirmation email including order information and a direct link to the Shipping Tracking system. If users click this link, they are immediately shown the order status for that particular order. Alternatively, users lacking a confirmation email or wishing to view an Order History can search for orders by Email Address, Last Name, or by entering a Tracking number for an order. This feature is extremely useful for 'power users' at the corporation who place orders frequently and have many orders to track at a given time.

Lastly, each requester for whom products shipped on that day may optionally receive a concise email detailing all items shipped that day, along with FedEx/UPS/DHL tracking numbers, if included. This proactive step, if enabled, further diminishes customer service inquiries regarding order status by "pushing" shipment information to users.

The status shown to the end user clearly reflects whether the order has been "Shipped" (green), is "Awaiting Approval or In Production" (yellow), or "Cancelled" (red), providing status at a glance. Orders shipped via FedEx, UPS, and DHL include a direct link to the FedEx/UPS/DHL tracking websites, whereby packages can be tracked directly to the doorstep.

Self-Management Vendor Tools

Shipment Preferences

Each customer site can have independent preferences for shipment methods supported and shipment notification settings.

Enter Shipment Data - Manual

Entering shipment data manually is easy - vendors see a list of unshipped items and simply check the boxes next to each item in the package, then enter relevant shipping information (if any) before clicking a button - that's it! Once you click "Process Shipment", these items will be removed from the queue and a shipment will have been created in the database. You can then move on to your next shipment, or move to another client.

Enter Shipment Data - Automated

For higher-volume ordering scenarios, most vendors elect to use our shipment data import features to provide shipment data in a delimited format (e.g., generated by a report in the shipment platform) on a nightly basis. The PageDNA Shipment Data Importer parses the record and links shipments to orders.

Send Shipment Notification

At the end of the day, after all shipments have been processed, it is time to send "Shipment Notification" emails to requesters. Shipment Notification emails help decrease order status inquiries to customer service. This can either be performed manually or on a scheduled basis.

Reporting

Sites with Shipping System activated have a report type called "Shipped Items" which lets you run reports filtered by shipment status ( Shipped/Not Shipped ) on your site. This works like out other reports, allowing download in HTML, Microsoft Excel, or delimited formats. Report settings can be saved for re-use.
